UNPRI Strengthens Students’ Digital Competencies through SAP Business One Training and ERP Integration into the Curriculum

Medan, December 15–17, 2025 – Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) successfully organized SAP Business One training for lecturers across various faculties, including the Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Science and Technology (FAST), Faculty of Agro Technology, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FKKG), and Faculty of Health Sciences (FIK). This intensive three-day event held at the UNPRI campus environment is a concrete manifestation of the university's commitment to aligning higher education with the needs of an increasingly digitalized industrial and business world.

SAP Business One is an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software widely used in various industrial sectors to manage integrated business processes, ranging from accounting, sales, and purchasing to inventory management and reporting. Through this training, lecturers were equipped with conceptual and practical understanding regarding ERP system implementation in modern business practices, enabling them to integrate these skills effectively into classroom learning.

In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fajar Rezeki Ananda Lubis, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, emphasized that ERP systems are a game changer in the modern business world due to their ability to track the entire flow of business processes comprehensively. With such a system, stakeholders can ensure that every business process runs effectively, efficiently, and transparently. He also highlighted that UNPRI is among the progressive higher education institutions that have adopted ERP-based information system learning using SAP as part of a curriculum transformation oriented toward industrial needs.

This training was supported through strategic collaboration between Universitas Prima Indonesia and PT Inti Data Utama as the training provider, as well as PT Indocyber Global Teknologi as the SAP Business One license provider. This synergy is expected to strengthen faculty capacity in mastering industry-based information technology while driving the improvement of UNPRI graduate quality to be better prepared for professional challenges.

Participants gave a positive response to the training, noting that it provided new insights and applicable understanding of ERP implementation in real business contexts. One UNPRI lecturer stated that this training is expected to enhance faculty competence in SAP-based ERP systems and serve as a foundation for developing practice-based teaching materials. Consequently, UNPRI students are expected to possess relevant skills and high competitiveness in the job market. Several participants also hoped for similar sustainable training programs, complete with advanced material and certification opportunities for both lecturers and students.

Through this SAP Business One training, Universitas Prima Indonesia further solidifies its position as an adaptive and responsive institution toward technological developments and industry needs, in line with its commitment to SDGs 4, SDGs 9, SDGs 17. UNPRI will continue to enhance its educational quality to remain the best private university in Medan.
