Bachelor’s Program in Psychology at UNPRI, Medan’s Favorite Campus, Holds “Empathic HR Communication Strategy Workshop” on Employee Management with Jeffry, M.Si., Psychologist, CHT

UNPRI, Medan – The Undergraduate Psychology Study Program at Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) once again demonstrated its commitment to providing education relevant to the needs of the professional world by organizing a workshop titled “HR Empathic Communication Strategies in Managing Employees” on Saturday (13/12/2025). The event took place at UNPRI's excellent and international socio-technopreneurship campus on Jalan Sampul No. 3, Medan Petisah.

The workshop featured Jeffry, M.Si., Psikolog, CHT.—an experienced Psychologist, Consultant, and Content Creator—as the keynote speaker. Participants came from diverse backgrounds, including UNPRI students, general students, and professional Human Resources (HR) practitioners from various companies in Medan. This forum served as an interactive space to exchange perspectives between communication psychology theory and real-world field practices.

Through this activity, UNPRI reaffirms its role as a pioneer of quality psychology education in North Sumatra. The UNPRI Faculty of Psychology currently hosts the first and only Psychologist Professional Education Study Program on the island of Sumatra. This achievement is a point of pride as UNPRI brings regional recognition to the national stage in developing superior human resources in the field of psychology.

In the modern world of work, HR is required to be a strategic communication bridge between employees and management. Companies need individuals who are not only technically competent but also possess strong interpersonal and emotional skills. This workshop equipped participants with practical skills to convey policies, listen to aspirations, and show authentic concern professionally.

The event was officially opened by Haposan Lumbantoruan, S.Pd., M.Psi., the lecturer for the Communication Psychology course, who emphasized that empathic communication is the foundation of a healthy work environment. The material was further explored by the speaker through applied psychological communication techniques and role-play sessions based on real cases. These simulations challenged participants to understand the real difficulties faced in conflict management and labor relations.

Organizing this workshop is clear evidence of UNPRI's commitment to producing graduates who are intellectually superior and emotionally mature. This step is also aligned with support for SDGs 4, SDGs 9, SDGs 17 in realizing quality education and strategic partnerships.
