UNPRI Officially Breaks Into the QS Asia University Rankings 2026, Transforming Into a World-Class University

Entering the QS Asia University Rankings 2026, UNPRI Strengthens Its Global Reputation

UNPRI, Medan – A new milestone has been achieved by Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI), a leading socio-technopreneurship university, in its transformation journey toward becoming a World Class University. UNPRI has officially broken into one of the world’s most credible and prestigious higher education rankings — the QS Asia University Rankings (AUR) 2026 — earning a place among the best universities in Asia, ranked 1401–1500. As one of the “newcomers” from Indonesia recognized in the QS Quacquarelli Symonds list, this achievement marks a proud moment for UNPRI, which has transformed since 2005 from a College of Health Sciences into a university with a vision and mission to achieve international accreditation by 2026. Entry into the QS Asia AUR 2026 represents UNPRI’s first step toward continuous advancement.

The official announcement of the QS Asia University Rankings 2026 was released on November 4, 2025, in London and published via PR Newswire (prnasia.com). This year marks the most competitive edition, evaluating 1,526 universities from 25 countries across Asia, including 91 higher education institutions from Indonesia. UNPRI is among the universities that successfully made it into the evaluation for the first time. This is a significant leap that affirms its presence as a new university with the most progressive, innovative, and globally competitive growth.

QS assesses universities based on 11 international indicators, including academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-to-student ratio, number of faculty members with doctoral degrees, productivity and impact of scientific publications, international research collaboration, and the level of internationalization among students and faculty. UNPRI’s inclusion in this ranking demonstrates that its academic quality, research innovation, governance, and global collaboration have met international standards, aligned with its identity as a Socio-Technopreneurship-oriented campus driven by technology and knowledge.

Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes., AIFO-K., Rector of UNPRI, stated that UNPRI will continue to strengthen its global competitiveness to climb higher in the coming years. “UNPRI’s inclusion in the QS AUR 2026 proves that any university in Indonesia can break into global rankings as long as it has a vision, quality, and the courage to innovate. We will continue to enhance our academic reputation, teaching quality, globally competitive graduates, research impact, and accelerate internationalization among both students and faculty,” she said.

Currently, UNPRI holds the distinction of being the private university (PTS) with the largest number of Specialist Doctor Education Programs (PPDS) in Indonesia — a total of seven programs, including Family Medicine with Excellent Service, Radiology, Ophthalmology, Cardiology and Vascular Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Anesthesiology, and Internal Medicine. UNPRI also offers 57 study programs ranging from Diploma, Bachelor, Professional, Master’s to Doctoral degrees, spread across nine Study Program Management Units, namely the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences (FKKGIK); Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery (FKK); Faculty of Psychology (FPSI); Faculty of Law (FH); Faculty of Economics (FE); Faculty of Science and Technology (FAST); Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP); Faculty of Agro-Technology (FAGRO); and the Off-Campus Study Program (PSDKU) in Pekanbaru, Riau Province.

All study fields are designed to meet the needs of the global market and the future workforce, in line with UNPRI’s mission to produce graduates of exceptional character and problem solvers for society. UNPRI has also strengthened its national quality standing after earning the “Excellent” Accreditation status from BAN-PT on May 7, 2024, under Decree No. 510/SK/BAN-PT/Ak/PT/V/2024 — the highest recognition for universities in Indonesia.
