UNPRI—an Excellent Socio-Technopreneurship Campus—Welcomes a Visit and Public Lecture by Syamsi Hari, S.E., M.M., Head of BNSP (Central Office)

UNPRI, Medan — Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) continues to prove itself as an excellent campus that adapts to the needs of the times by establishing an active, officially licensed Professional Certification Institute (LSP) named the Universitas Prima Indonesia LSP, accredited by the National Agency for Professional Certification (BNSP). The presence of this LSP is a selling point for UNPRI and a strategic step to ensure that every graduate holds not only a diploma but also a government-recognized work competency certification as an industry-standard qualification, both nationally and internationally.

As a form of appreciation, the Head of BNSP (Central Office) Syamsi Hari, S.E., M.M., and BNSP Commissioner for the education sector Prof. Amilin, S.E., Ak., M.Si., visited UNPRI’s main campus on Monday (16/06/2025), delivering a public lecture on BNSP in the main hall on the 10th floor, Jl. Sampul No. 3 Medan Petisah, attended by thousands of students. In his presentation, he expressed admiration for UNPRI’s commitment to building an LSP with comprehensive competency testing facilities, professional assessors, and digital-based services. According to him, not all campuses in Indonesia have an LSP, and UNPRI—through the Universitas Prima Indonesia LSP—is an exemplary model of how a higher-education institution equips its students early on to confidently enter the job market and industry with outstanding BNSP certification.

In his remarks representing UNPRI Rector Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes., AIFO-K., Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs and Information Systems, who also serves as Chair of the Universitas Prima Indonesia LSP, Dr. Abdi Dharma, S.Kom., M.Kom., FITPM, FITAR, AITSP, MCF, conveyed his gratitude for the support given by BNSP Central to UNPRI. He also stated that going forward, the current five certification schemes will continue to be expanded to cover all study programs across UNPRI’s eight faculties, including the Study Program Outside the Main Campus (PSDKU) in Pekanbaru, Riau Province, so that all UNPRI graduates can be readily absorbed by business and industry due to the competencies needed today.

Since officially becoming Universitas Prima Indonesia in 2005—evolving from the Prima Medan Academy of Nursing and Midwifery established in 2001, and in 2002 developing into the Prima Husada Medan College of Health Sciences—UNPRI has produced tens of thousands of graduates who now contribute across various sectors, both domestically and abroad. Many of them have become successful entrepreneurs, as UNPRI emphasizes socio-technopreneurship and IT-based learning concepts, shaping graduates who are competitive, creative, independent, and solution-oriented in the face of social and technological challenges.

The Universitas Prima Indonesia LSP was established under Decree KEP.0798/BNSP/IV/2022 and BNSP License Number BNSP-LSP-2105-ID, holds active status, and is headquartered at the Main Campus, Jl. Sampul No. 03 Medan Petisah. With Hafiz Ramadhan, S.T., M.M., as Quality Manager, the Universitas Prima Indonesia LSP currently operates 10 Competency Test Centers (TUK) with 48 competency assessors and five primary schemes: KKNI Level 4 Certification Scheme in Industrial Entrepreneurship; Occupational Certification Scheme for Head of Human Resources Department; Occupational Certification Scheme for Expert Accounting Technician; Cluster Certification Scheme in Customer Feedback Management; and Occupational Certification Scheme for Industrial Relations Dispute Settlement Officer.

An LSP is an implementing body for competency testing that is licensed by BNSP, an independent state institution tasked with administering work competency certification under Law No. 13 of 2003 on Manpower. The presence of the Universitas Prima Indonesia LSP positions the campus as one of the national private universities that prepares its students to face global job competition through official recognition of their professional skills.

Not all private universities—especially in North Sumatra—have an LSP. Choose a campus with an official LSP, because studying at UNPRI is not an ordinary experience.
