Maria Simarmata, FE UNPRI Student Successfully Presents Article at International Conference

From Medan to the World: UNPRI Faculty of Economics Students Compete in Global Scientific Forum

UNIVERSITAS PRIMA INDONESIA - MEDAN, Maria Febry Ulina Simarmata (Maria), a student of the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI), successfully presented her journal article in the "3rd International Conference On Business Resilience, Continuity And Regeneration", which was held on 17-20 June 2025 by the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (UKZN) South Africa.

With the theme "Flourishing In The Vuca World Building Business And Financial Market Resilience", Maria presented her paper entitled "Implementation of Green Economy: The Influence of Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) in Business Strategy on Company Performance", which was written together with her supervisor, Dede Ansyari Guci, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., CDM.

Regarding whether ESG affects company performance as proxied by the Return On Equity (ROE) value, Maria revealed that a high ESG score not only reflects the performance of companies that care about sustainability, but can also influence stakeholder trust, reduce operational risk, and attract funding from investors.

Maria explained that participating in this International Conference was something she had never participated in before, so this was her first experience in participating in an international event.

"As a UNPRI student, this is a source of pride for me, because with the preparation that is considered In short, I can present the contents of my paper well. In this regard, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the organizing committee of the International Conference who have accommodated the participants in developing our potential. My gratitude also goes to Mr. Dede Ansyari Guci, Ph.D as the supervisor and corresponding author in our paper," explained Maria, Wednesday (6/18/2025).
