UNPRI Students Welcome Apple Developer Academy Scholarship Socialization Positively

UNPRI's Real Steps to Support Student Innovation and Creativity

In collaboration with Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI), Apple Developer Academy @ Infinte Learning held a socialization of the Scholarship Program, Monday, April 28, 2025 at 10.00 - 11.30 at the UNPRI Campus, Jln.Sampul No. 3 Medan.

At the socialization event attended by 1000 students, Dhea Luciany Januar as Marketing & Student Acquisition, and Mariskha P Yosua as Operation Coordinator, said that the Apple Developer Academy is an official training program from Apple, which aims to develop skills in the field of application technology, especially for the Apple ecosystem (iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS). This program is designed to prepare prospective developers, designers, and entrepreneurs in building innovative and high-quality applications.

Luciany Januar added that the purpose of the socialization is to increase student awareness of current digital developments, provide complete information about the Apple Developer Academy program and available scholarship opportunities, encourage students to develop interests in technology, innovation, and digital entrepreneurship, encourage students to create original application projects that can be published to the App Store, and have the potential to become professional portfolios, and provide direct training based on Apple's global standard curriculum, including coding (Swift), UI/UX design, product management, to soft skills such as leadership and teamwork.

According to her, the Apple Developer Academy was first launched by Apple Inc. in 2013 in Brazil. The main goal is to develop young talent in the field of application development for the Apple platform, while expanding the Apple developer ecosystem in various countries.

"Because of its great success in Brazil, Apple then expanded this program to various other countries, including Indonesia, Italy, South Korea, Saudi Arabia and the United States," he said.

In Indonesia, the Apple Developer Academy has officially been present since 2018. The first location was opened in BSD City, South Tangerang (in collaboration with BINUS University). Then it was expanded to Batam and Surabaya. Infinite Learning is one of the main partners in running this program in Indonesia.

Globally, according to him, the scholarship program is intended to equip participants with coding, design, and business skills to build innovative applications. Then Helping to create new entrepreneurs, professional developers, and innovators in various parts of the world, and supporting the diversification of the digital economy in various countries. "This program is recognized as one of the most prestigious and internationally standardized developer training programs organized directly by Apple," he said again.

Some important things about the Apple Developer Academy:

1. The duration is usually 10 months (full-time).
2. The material is Coding (Swift), application design (UI / UX), entrepreneurship, soft skills (teamwork, communication)..
3. Participants are open to all backgrounds, not necessarily IT students.
4. Free fees, often participants even get scholarships / pocket money.
5. The goal is to form graduates who are ready to create digital products, become startup founders, or join technology companies.
6. Locations in Indonesia are in several cities such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Batam.

Vice Rector III of UNPRI, represented by Dr. Windania Purba, SKom, MKom as Head of Student Affairs, said that we all realize that the world is currently moving very fast, especially in the fields of technology and innovation.

"The world of work and industry requires young talents who are not only academically intelligent, but also adaptive, creative, innovative, and have technology-based skills. Therefore, we very much welcome the implementation of this socialization. Apple Developer Academy @ Infinite Learning is one of the prestigious programs, which provides a golden opportunity for students to develop technological skills, think creatively, build innovative products, and at the same time expand their professional network at the global level," he said.

Dr. Windania invites all students, especially those in their final semester, to make the most of this opportunity. "Make this program a first step to prepare yourself to face the challenges of a dynamic working world. Don't hesitate to ask, dig up information, and take the opportunities that exist," he said.

A number of students enthusiastically welcomed the socialization. According to them, this socialization activity was very informative and inspiring, the material was delivered in an interesting and easy-to-understand way, even for participants who had no experience in the IT field.

Then the resource person gave strong motivation to continue learning and innovating in the world of technology. But they also gave suggestions, because it would be better if in the future there were test simulation sessions or mini workshops to help prepare for registration. (RED/MBB)
