UNPRI Holds Outcome Based Education Curriculum Workshop
Medan, Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) held an OBE (Outcome Based Education) Curriculum Workshop, Monday (1/20/2025) Mini Hall UNPRI Jln Sampul No. 3 Medan, which was attended by all deans and heads of study programs in UNPRI.
UNPRI presented resource persons Dr. Deny Jollyta, M.Kom, Head of the APTIKOM Academic Study Center (PSA) as resource persons and Herbert Wau, SKM., MPH., CHCSA as moderator. The Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum workshop focuses on ensuring that learning outcomes can be achieved by UNPRI students.
In this workshop, the resource person delivered material to strengthen the implementation of the OBE curriculum, which will be continued with training for lecturers in the OBE-based teaching and learning process, and the design of OBE-based evaluations and assessments that are integrated with the academic information system at UNPRI.
UNPRI Vice Chancellor III Refi Ikhtiari, Ph.D said that the era of globalization and the industrial revolution 5.0 have brought major challenges to the world of education. College graduates are now required to have competencies that are relevant to the needs of the world of work, critical thinking skills, effective communication, and moral integrity.
To answer this challenge, the implementation of OBE is one of the strategic approaches that we must implement. "Through OBE, we not only focus on what is taught, but also on what is produced. This means that the curriculum, learning process and evaluation must be designed in an integrated manner to ensure that students are able to achieve the learning outcomes that have been set,” he added.
One of the workshop participants, Fikri Akbar as the Head of the DKV Study Program said that the OBE workshop provided new insights into the importance of the Outcome-Based Education approach in improving the quality of education. The speakers were competent, and the discussion was interactive, helping participants better understand the concept of OBE, starting from compiling learning outcomes, designing outcome-based curriculum, to effective evaluation methods.
Fikri Akbar hopes that workshop activities like this can continue to be carried out sustainably, both in the form of advanced training and discussion forums involving more lecturers and education staff.
The workshop was attended by 60 participants consisting of deans and heads of study programs and the PSA Team. The event was also attended by Vice Rector III Dr. Said Rizal, SHI., MA and a number of UNPRI alumni.
