FE UNPRI Holds Seminar

“HR Competence for Superior Indonesia”

The Faculty of Economics, Universitas Prima Indonesia (FE UNPRI) held a seminar with the theme "HR Competence for Superior Indonesia", which took place at the Main Hall of the Universitas Prima Indonesia Campus located at Jalan Sampul No. 3 Medan, Saturday (6/29/2024).

In the seminar, FE UNPRI presented a resource person, Dr. Janry Haposan U.T. Simanungkalit S.Si., M.Si (Head of Regional Office VI BKN). The seminar was attended by approximately 1500 participants, consisting of students, deans, heads of study programs and other permanent lecturers at Universitas Prima Indonesia.

In his presentation, Dr. Janry Haposan U,T. Simanungkalit emphasized the importance of periodically improving competencies, so that future competency needs can be met. "Today's young generation really needs to have adaptive and competent skills, in order to keep up with the development of the digital and modern era. In addition to training, support in the form of competency certification is needed. This competency certification aims to provide official recognition of the skills and knowledge possessed by the workforce," he explained.

According to him, efforts to improve competency by the government are an integral part of sustainable human resource development. By continuing to develop innovative and relevant programs, the government plays an important role in creating a superior workforce that is ready to compete in the global arena. Dr. Janry added that the world of work is currently increasingly competitive and global. Work is not only limited to the national scope, but also international. "Currently, many companies are looking for employees who have global competence, namely the ability to adapt to a multicultural environment, master foreign languages, and be able to work with people from various countries. Therefore, preparation to face the world of work with global competence is very important," he said.

Vice Chancellor 1 of Universitas Prima Indonesia, Abdi Darma., S. Kom., M.Kom, in his speech conveyed the importance of improving competence. "In meeting the needs of student competence, Universitas Prima Indonesia has a Professional Certification Institute (LSP) in collaboration with BNSP," he said.

The seminar on the topic of competence was also attended by Vice Chancellor I Abdi Darma., S. Kom., M.Kom, Dean of the Faculty of Economics Prof. Dr. Drs. Syaifuddin., M.MA, Vice Dean I Bayu Wulandari., S.E., M.Si, Vice Dean II Dr. Elly Romy, S.E., B.A., MTCSOL. Vice Dean III Dr. Fenny Krisna Marpaung., S.E., M.M, a number of other lecturers and students.
