OBE-Based Curriculum Training and RPS Preparation
The 2014 National Higher Education Standards (SN DIKTI) states that each study program must be equipped with learning achievement targets as a form of accountability for program implementation to stakeholders. According to SN DIKTI, Graduate competency standards, which are the minimum criteria for graduate ability qualifications that include attitudes, knowledge, and skills, must be stated in the formulation of graduate learning achievements. The formulation of graduate learning outcomes must refer to the description of graduate learning outcomes of the Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI), and have equivalency with the qualification level in KKNI.
To prepare learning based on the Outcome Based Education (OBE) Curriculum and Semester Learning Plan (RPS) based on project-based learning, the Faculty of Economics (FE) UNPRI held an Outcome Based Education (OBE) Curriculum Training and Semester Learning Plan (RPS) conducted by the Faculty of Economics on March 10-11, 2023 at the Sampul Building Hall, Universitas Prima Indonesia. The two-day event invited Noven Suprayogi, SE., M.Si, Ak, the Airlangga University Learning Innovation Team, the Airlangga University Curriculum Review Team, the Head of the Islamic Economic Development Institute (LPEI) Unair and the Internal Audit Team of the Academic Quality Audit of Airlangga University.
The training event was officially opened by the Dean of FE UNPRI Medan, Cut Fitri Rostina SE MM, accompanied by Vice Dean III Fenny Krisna Marpaung, SE MSi and a number of other structural officials at FE UNPRI. This workshop was attended by all permanent lecturers at the UNPRI Faculty of Economics.
This training is important for learning to bridge the gap between the education process in Higher Education and the world of work. Therefore, in compiling the curriculum, courses and RPS that refer to the OBE standards, the graduate profile/Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL) must first be mapped by adjusting human resources, because the graduate profile leads to concentration and the availability of graduate profiles must also not overlap with other study programs. Discussion on the learning achievements of the Faculty of Economics and its implementation both through RPS and the teaching and learning process through integration between technological developments, scientific understanding and research in learning.
Considering the principles of the curriculum cycle with the OBE approach are diverse, adjusting to the OBE approach model or paradigm used in curriculum development and implementation, among which the simplest consists of three interacting stages, namely:
Outcome Based Curriculum (OBC), curriculum development based on the profile and Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL),
Outcome Based Learning and Teaching (OBLT), implementation of learning activities defined as interactions in learning activities between lecturers, students, and learning resources, and
Outcome Based Assessment and Evaluation (OBAE), an assessment and evaluation approach carried out on CPL achievements in order to improve the quality of continuous learning.
It can be concluded that the OBE paradigm or approach is as follows, first, OBE is very much in accordance with the SN-Dikti that has been mapped previously. Second, Second, the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum focus on achieving CPL, in its implementation for national and international accreditation purposes, the implementation of OBE requires the support of valid documents or data as evidence.
The Dean of FE UNPRI Medan, Cut Fitri Rostina SE MM expressed her gratitude for the willingness of Noven Suprayogi, SE, M.Si, Ak to provide the OBE Curriculum training in question. "We hope that through this training, UNPRI FE lecturers will be able to compile RPS and provide interesting experiences to students.
We hope that this training activity can improve the quality and quality of human resources (HR) who understand and are skilled in compiling OBE-based curriculum, not only in the Faculty of Economics but also in other Faculties within Universitas Prima Indonesia.
