Mayor of Medan Reviews Implementation of Medan Berkah Scholarship Exam
Medan Berkah Collaborative Scholarship from Mr. Bobby Nasution
Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution reviewed the implementation of the "Bobby Nasution scholarship" exam at Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) on Sekip Street, Sei Sikambing B Village, Medan Petisah District, Thursday (11/11/2021).
Bobby Nasution's arrival was to see firsthand the ongoing exam process running smoothly. This scholarship is prioritized for students who are orphans whose parents have died due to the Covid-19 pandemic or are in the category of underprivileged families. Bobby Nasution also did this as an effort to advance and improve the education sector in the city of Medan. There are a number of study programs that can be chosen by scholarship recipients, namely nursing and midwifery study programs, teaching and education sciences and technology and computer science, agrotechnology, public health, economics and law.
Now the registered participants are taking the exam which will be held from November 8 to 11. Accompanied by the Vice Chancellor of UNPRI, Dr. dr. Ali Napiah Nasution MKT MKM, Acting Head of Medan City Education Office Topan OP Ginting and Medan Petisah Sub-district Head Agha Novrian, Bobby Nasution said that this scholarship was given as a form of his contribution to the world of education in Medan City. Therefore, Bobby Nasution prioritizes providing this scholarship to underprivileged residents. This is done so that they can continue their education to a higher level as capital to achieve the future.
Accompanied by the Deputy Chancellor of UNPRI, Dr. dr. Ali Napiah Nasution MKT MKM, Acting Head of Medan City Education Office Topan OP Ginting and Medan Petisah Sub-district Head Agha Novrian, Bobby Nasution said that this scholarship was given as a form of his contribution to the world of education in Medan City. Therefore, Bobby Nasution prioritizes providing this scholarship to underprivileged residents. This is done so that they can continue their education to a higher level as capital to achieve their future. Because of the Covid-19 situation, we made the exam implementation situation inside earlier at a distance. In addition, more than 300 people registered so we made the exam in stages, "said Bobby Nasution.
Bobby Nasution also said that this scholarship is not a Medan City Government program. This means that the scholarship provided does not use the Medan City Government budget but rather Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assistance from UNPRI in collaboration with Bobby Nasution. "This is not an activity that uses the Medan City Government budget. This is not a Medan City Government program, this is Bobby Nasution's personal work in collaboration with UNPRI. UNPRI wants to provide CSR assistance to Medan City students who are orphans whose parents died due to the Covid-19 pandemic and whose families are unable or do not have the funds to continue their studies, that is the priority," he explained.
