FKIP UNPRI Holds 2016 Language and Literature Festival

'Educational Innovation in Welcoming Indonesia's Golden Generation'.

MEDAN (Portibi DNP): The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) held the 2016 Language and Literature Festival, with the theme 'Educational Innovation in Welcoming Indonesia's Golden Generation'. "The theme is a reflection of the answers to challenges, problems, and hopes of the community in preparing a better generation of the nation," said Dean of FKIP UNPRI Dian Syahfitri to reporters, Saturday (19/3) at the Jalan Sekip Medan campus. The festival was attended by Education Practitioners (lecturers at Surakarta State University) Dr Rohmadi MHum, Drs. Zulkifli Simatupang MPd CET (education practitioner), Founder of UNPRI dr I Nyoman Ehrich Lister MKes AIFM, Head of BPH UNPRI Dr Tommy Leonard SH MKn, Rector of UNPRI Prof dr Jakobus Tarigan, AAI., DAAK, Vice Rector I UNPRI Seno Aji SPd.MEng.Prac.

Therefore, said Dian, all elements of the nation, especially education must collaborate to improve self-competence, determination, and innovation so that the demographic bonus contributes to the country, namely the Golden Generation of Indonesia 2045.

In addition to the competition, he said, FKIP UNPRI also held a National Seminar with speakers Dr Rohmadi MHum (Lecturer at Surakarta State University-Education Practitioner) and Drs. Zulkifli Simatupang MPd CET. (Education practitioner).

Dian also explained that globalization has penetrated the boundaries of space and time. Such rapid dynamics in the fields of technology and information require rapid anticipatory and adaptive actions. The development of socio-culture, knowledge, and technology, he said, has brought students' lives to a stage faster than their age. Like a body, to be resistant to various diseases, its immunity must be increased, one of the efforts is through vaccination.

In a social perspective, there are three social diseases that have very large negative impacts, namely poverty, ignorance, and backwardness of civilization.
"How to increase social resistance (immunity) to avoid these three diseases. The answer is education. Therefore, education can be a social vaccine," he said.

In addition to being a social vaccine, education is also a social elevator to improve social status. These two things are the background of the 2016 Language and Literature Festival.

"We need vaccines and social elevators so that we can avoid these three diseases and be able to improve our social status as well as a real manifestation," he said.

In welcoming the golden generation of Indonesia 2045 which is the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. The theme is a reflection of the answers to the challenges, problems, and hopes of the community in preparing a better generation of the nation.

Therefore, all elements of the nation, especially education must collaborate to improve self-competence, determination, and innovation so that the demographic bonus contributes to the country, namely the Golden Generation of Indonesia 2045.
