Breast Cancer The Most Haunting Disease For Women Over 30 Years

Breast cancer is the most haunting disease for women over 30 years old. Uniquely, new patients come for treatment after their breast cancer is already in an advanced stage. This was stated by dr. Deny Rifsal Siregar, Sp.B (K)., Onk., when he was a speaker at a seminar at the Royal Prima Hospital on Jalan Ayahanda Medan. (11/12/2014)

"Breast Cancer is a disease caused by malignant cells (cancer) that grow in breast tissue. These cells usually appear in the ducts in the breast. These cancer cells can spread between existing tissues or organs and to other parts of the body," said dr. Deny Rifsal Siregar, after the seminar in the multipurpose room of the Royal Prima Hospital.

The seminar was attended by the Chairperson of the Prima Indonesia University Board of Trustees, dr. I Nyoman Ehrich Lister, M.Kes., AIFM., Chairperson of the BPH Unpri Dr. Tommy Leonard, S.H., M.Kn., Advisor to Unpri dr.Sofian Wijaya, M.H.A., Director of Royal Prima Hospital dr. Deli Theo S.p. PK., MARS., students of FK Unpri and residents around Royal Prima Hospital.

According to the doctor who is always ready to handle patients at Royal Prima Hospital, the risk of getting breast cancer increases with age. Therefore, it is advised to every woman, both mothers and young women, to do early detection of the risk of breast cancer.

"Although the causative factors are still unknown, total healing is very possible with early detection through regular breast examinations," said the surgeon at Royal Prima Hospital convincingly.

So far, said dr. Deny, the habit found in patients with this disease is always to come for examination by a doctor, when the disease is already at a stage and is declared after the examination to be suffering from cancer. In fact, to find out and prevent this disease, early examination should be done. In addition, daily lifestyle must be maintained, both diet and lifestyle.

dr. Deny assessed that our society currently seems to be negligent in checking themselves for this disease. In fact, according to our society, cancer is very scary, but it can be prevented and treated, namely by carrying out prevention and early examination by seeing what the signs of this disease are. However, what happens in our society is that they are always negligent in carrying out early examinations by experts.

Meanwhile, in a separate place, Thursday (11/12) Head of BPH Unpri Dr. Tommy Leonard, S.H., M.Kn., added that the purpose of the seminar discussing breast cancer was to increase the knowledge of students of the Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Prima Indonesia (Unpri).

With the knowledge gained from this seminar, said Tommy, it is hoped that FK Unpri students can convey to the public about how to carry out early detection by doing SADARI (self-breast examination).

Tommy advised the students of FK Unpri, if they become doctors in the future, to always put the interests of patients as the main interest and provide counseling on breast cancer, in collaboration with related institutions, to increase awareness of Indonesian women about the dangers of breast cancer.
