UNPRI Men’s Basketball Team Advances to MBA Vol IV Final After Dramatic Victory Over UMSU

SPARTAN UNPRI Displays Championship Mentality as They Prepare for the Grand Final Match.

The male basketball team of Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI), famously known by their moniker SPARTAN UNPRI, has officially advanced to the final round of the MBA VOL IV Inter-Campus Tournament. This decisive moment was secured after winning a highly competitive semifinal match against the University of Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) team on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the Medan Basketball Arena, Jalan Kapten Sumarsono, Medan.

The semifinal match was filled with intense tension from start to finish. SPARTAN UNPRI successfully locked in a victory with a narrow score of 41 - 38 in a game that served as a rigorous test for the team coached by Jenny, S.E., M.M. Both teams traded points relentlessly since the first quarter; however, the composure and championship mentality demonstrated by captain Diantan Riovaldo, coupled with a disciplined strategy, allowed SPARTAN UNPRI to maintain their lead until the final whistle blew.

This success was witnessed firsthand by Team Manager Farrell and the Vice Coordinator of UNPRI Creative (UC), Haposan Lumbantoruan, S.Pd., M.Psi. The full support from the Central UC management and intensive coaching from the Office of the Vice Rector III for Student Affairs have clearly yielded significant results. This victory further solidifies SPARTAN UNPRI's position as one of the most formidable student basketball forces in North Sumatra.
