Langkat Regent Partners with UNPRI! MoU on Tri Dharma Marks the Beginning of a Major Collaboration in Education and Regional Development with Sustainable Impact

Strategic Collaboration for the Improvement of Education Quality and Regional Development in Langkat

UNPRI, Langkat - Once again, Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) reaffirms its position and commitment as an excellent and globally competitive campus through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Langkat Regency Government. This historic event took place at the Langkat Regent's Office on Wednesday, (22/10/2025), as a concrete step to strengthen the synergy between the academic world and local government in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, which includes education, research, and community service that is impactful and sustainable.

The event, which was supposed to be attended by the Rector of UNPRI, Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes., AIFO-K, was represented by the Vice Rector IV for Cooperation, Dr. dr. Ali Napiah Nasution, M.K.T., M.K.M., Sp.K.K.L.P.(K), accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Elvira Fitriyani Pakpahan, S.HI., M.Hum., and the leadership team of faculties, whose entire study programs from undergraduate to doctoral levels have been accredited "Excellent" by the national accreditation body, BAN-PT.

From the Langkat Regency Government, the Regent of Langkat, H. Syah Afandin, S.H., was present, accompanied by the Assistant for General Administration and several department heads, including the Head of Education, Head of Health, Head of Communication and Information, Head of Community Empowerment and Village Affairs, Head of Environment, and the Head of Government Affairs. The presence of this complete delegation, who welcomed the event, shows the seriousness of the Langkat Regency Government in strengthening its partnership with higher education institutions to improve the quality of human resources and public services.

In his speech, the Regent of Langkat, H. Syah Afandin, S.H., expressed his highest appreciation to Universitas Prima Indonesia for its commitment and concern for the development of Langkat Regency. “This collaboration is a concrete step to bring together the world of education with the real needs of government and society today. We believe that the synergy with UNPRI will accelerate Langkat's transformation towards more innovative and competitive regional development, and we hope the collaboration will have a lasting and sustainable impact,” he said, greeted by applause from the audience.

Meanwhile, the Vice Rector IV of UNPRI, Dr. dr. Ali Napiah Nasution, M.K.T., M.K.M., Sp.K.K.L.P.(K), emphasized that this MoU is not just a symbolic signing but the beginning of an ongoing collaboration. “UNPRI is ready to get directly involved through research, training, and community service based on local needs. We want to ensure that the presence of the university truly has a real impact on the community and local government apparatus,” he said. He also added that this cross-sector cooperation is a manifestation of UNPRI’s vision as a socio-technopreneurship campus focused on solutions and sustainability as expected.

The event was concluded with a group photo session and a light-hearted dialogue full of warmth. The participants viewed the partnership between UNPRI and the Langkat Regency Government as a progressive step to bring together knowledge and government practice. Moving forward, both parties are committed to following up on this MoU with concrete work programs that directly touch the community.
