UNPRI Holds Outreach on Excellent Service for Frontliners, Strengthening the Image of a Top Campus

Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) officially held a Service Excellent Socialization Program for all frontline staff on Thursday (August 7, 2025). This activity was an initiative of UNPRI Rector, Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes., who believes that excellent service is one of the determining factors in a campus' image and competitiveness. The socialization and training involved all staff in security, customer service (CDC), financial administration, the Academic Administration Bureau (BAA), branding, and cleaning services. This coaching program was delivered by Datok Yan Djuna from UNPRI's Marketing Communications.

Rector Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes., emphasized that Excellent Service is not merely a procedure, but part of implementation and is aligned with UNPRI's Values: Unity, Network, Prime, Responsibility, and Integrity. She stated that the 5S concept—Smile, Greet, Say Hello, Polite, and Courteous—is key to success and interaction with students, lecturers, guests, and partners. "Frontliners are the face of the university; the quality of their service reflects the quality of UNPRI," she said.

UNPRI currently holds the Excellence accreditation and is internationally oriented with 54 study programs covering undergraduate, professional, master's, specialist, and doctoral levels. The university's eight faculties include the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Psychology, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, the Faculty of Science and Technology, and the Faculty of Agrotechnology.

UNPRI is also recognized as a private university in Indonesia with its own main teaching hospital. It has at least six hospitals spread not only across Sumatra but also across Java. UNPRI also has the largest number of specialist medical education programs in Indonesia, with at least seven resident doctors (PPDS). These include primary family medicine, radiology, ophthalmology, cardiology and vascular sciences, obstetrics and gynecology, anesthesia, and internist (internal medicine), with others soon to follow. This is an achievement and a milestone in supporting the Indonesian government's program to increase the number of specialist doctors.

The Excellent Service Program is expected to foster a positive work culture at UNPRI. With friendly and professional service, the university aims to create comfort, create a positive impression, and ensure satisfaction for students, faculty, and all stakeholders. "We already have modern facilities, now it's time to ensure the quality of interaction and service is commensurate. If this becomes a culture at UNPRI, it will certainly become a selling point for the campus, and this will have positive implications for UNPRI," said Datok Yan Djuna.

The Excellent Service activity, held in the Master's Classroom, UNPRI Main Building, Jalan Sampul No. 3, Medan Petisah, also serves as a form of implementation of Law No. 25 of 2009 concerning Public Services and Regulation of the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform No. 15 of 2014 concerning Guidelines for Service Standards. The entire UNPRI academic community is expected to meet quality public service standards, in accordance with the mandate and implementation of these regulations. Implemented using simulation and role-play methods, participants were divided into several sessions, each of which was required to practice service scenarios in real situations.
