UNPRI Donates 96 Bags of Blood to PMI

Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) again held a blood drive on campus at Jln.Sampul No. 3 Medan, Tuesday (12/8/2025). From this CSR activity, UNPRI successfully collected 96 bags of blood and donated them to the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) in Medan City.

When asked by the media, UNPRI Vice Rector 3 Refi Ikhtiari, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., stated that the purpose of holding the blood drive was to help fulfill the blood stock at the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) in Medan City for the needs of patients in hospitals.

Refi Ikhtiari, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D. also added that the blood drive was also intended to foster a sense of social awareness among the Universitas Prima Indonesia academic community towards those in need. He then invited students, lecturers, and staff to participate in humanitarian actions that directly benefit the community.

“This also aims to build a culture of sharing and mutual cooperation as a manifestation of the implementation of humanitarian values within the campus environment. It supports public health programs while also providing education on the importance of regular blood donation,” he said.

Refi Ikhtiari, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., further explained that the blood donation drive at Universitas Prima Indonesia is expected to become a regular program that continues to receive high enthusiasm from students, lecturers, and staff.

“With this ongoing activity, it is hoped that the university's contribution to fulfilling the national blood stock will increase, as well as increasing awareness of the importance of blood donation as part of a healthy lifestyle. Furthermore, this activity also "It is hoped that this will strengthen the sense of togetherness and solidarity of the entire academic community, so that Universitas Prima Indonesia will not only excel academically but also become a role model in humanitarian action in the community," he concluded.

In addition to UNPRI staff and lecturers, the blood donation event was also attended by a number of UNPRI leaders, such as Vice Rector 1 Dr. Abdi Dharma, S.Kom., M.Kom., Vice Rector 2 Prof. Dr. Ermi Girsang, M.Kes., M.Biomed., AIFO, and Vice Rector 3 Refi Ikhtiari, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D.
