UNPRI Student Rusmita Sari Selected as Youth Exchange and Conference Delegate in Malaysia

The most oustanding student

Medan, A student of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI), Rusmita Sari, was selected as a Delegate for the International Youth Exchange and Conference in Malaysia, January 14-19, 2025.

The recipient of the Bobby Nasution and Universitas Prima Indonesia Scholarship in 2021, who is familiarly called Mita, explained that the innovation of the Youth and Government Collaboration Care for Education (KP4) strategy came from her sadness when she was constrained by costs when she passed the IYEC selection, and then she focused on today's education issues.

"Actually, This KP4 strategy was once a selected essay when participating in the FPU 2 DPR-RI selection, but my struggle stopped because I failed in the final selection," she explained.

According to Mita, she advanced to the IYEC conference with a team called Higher Education, along with her colleagues Estriana Arifah Mahfud (Cirebon), Femi C.E. Pakpahan (Tarutung), Kareena Ayudya Maheswari (Jakarta), Gisthia Shifwa Fatiya (Sumedang), and Nasywa Az-Zayan Hanani (Purwakarta).

"So far, the discussion with the team, finally my thoughts were agreed to be brought to the SDGs conference. I didn't expect too much, it turned out that my innovation brought blessings to the team to the point of being named "THE BEST TEAM" at the international conference," said Mita.

Mita said that the innovation at this international event would be expressed through scientific work. "God willing, this innovation will be poured out through scientific work and hopefully it will be realized as an intervention for the quality of education in the country towards Indonesia Emas 2045 and support the success of the upcoming SDGs 2030," she concluded.

Mita added that she did not tell her parents about all the complaints she went through during the IYEC event, as well as in submitting an application for educational sponsorship.

"I am the first child, for me the pain in achieving that dream is left to me to feel. My mother and father just pray and approve of every step I take," said Mita, while also making the name of the Bobby Nasution Scholarship and Universitas Prima Indonesia proud, Friday (24/1).

Mita continued, hopefully she can be an example for today's young generation to be "resilient" in pursuing their dreams. "I realize that I live with will, not something that is instant. I have to try to pursue what I want." she said.

Mita said that she was constrained by finances until she finally submitted a sponsorship request to parties in charge of education. However, it was rejected, and she almost lost the opportunity to become a selected delegate.

"I didn't expect that at the end of the struggle to find sponsorship, I was contacted by government officials who care about education, and 'on behalf of myself' managed to get educational sponsorship to participate in IYEC. The news made me excited again and grew empathy for the fate of young people like me, like achieving as a form of contribution to the country but stopped only because of finances," she said.

According to her, being a person who is useful to others is a determination that must be realized, until finally she insisted on creating an innovative KP4 strategy.
