UNPRI Holds Socialization of Overseas Research Funding Sources (Norad Grants Funding)

Universitas Prima Indonesia continues to improve the quality of research and expand its impact to the international level. Improving the quality of research was carried out by holding a socialization on Foreign Research Funding Sources (Norad Grants Funding) on Monday, April 29, 2024. This event was organized by the Office of International Affairs (KUI) and the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) UNPRI, with Prof. Stergios Goutianos (Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim (NTNU), Norway) as the main speaker. The event was attended by 200 permanent lecturers of UNPRI.

In the speech of the Head of LPPM UNPRI, Edy Fachrial, S.Si., M.Si, it was stated that currently UNPRI still relies on domestic funds, such as Bima/BRIN and internal funding. while funding from abroad is still limited. The purpose of this socialization is to increase the competitiveness of UNPRI lecturers in obtaining research funding from abroad. This is considered important as one of the main assessments of university performance, especially in the context of the accreditation process. In addition, he also emphasized the importance of this international research, especially for university accreditation. "Obtaining international research grants is an important point, especially for institutional accreditation, because in the accreditation form there is a point for international research." he said.

Through this activity, LPPM hopes to provide encouragement for UNPRI lecturers to obtain international research funding as a vital benchmark in improving the quality and reputation of the university globally. Thus, it is hoped that UNPRI will be more active in the international research arena and can make a greater contribution to the development of science and technology globally.

Norad Grants Fundings supports various organizations in the fields of civil society, research, higher education, and private sector development, especially those collaborating with local partners in developing countries. The important role of Norad Grants Fundings in advancing global development cooperation efforts, with the aim of addressing pressing challenges such as poverty alleviation, climate change mitigation, and sustainable economic growth. This grant not only provides financial assistance, but also encourages collaboration and innovation, driving impactful change and progress in developing countries.

The socialization of Norad Grants Funding is expected to expand UNPRI's networking with international institutions and partners to access wider research resources and funding. UNPRI continues to be committed to increasing the quantity and quality of research, as well as publications in reputable international journals and protection of intellectual property rights (IPR) to become a quality and competitive higher education institution at the international level.
