The Extended Family of Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) celebrated Christmas with joy in an event held at the Main Hall of the UNPRI Campus, Jalan Sampul 4, Medan City, on Saturday, December 9, 2023. This Christmas celebration was the second time it was held at the Sampul Campus. This event was attended by the Founder of UNPRI, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman E.Lister MKes AIFM, Chairman of the Daily Supervisory Board (BPH) Dr. Tommy Leonard, S.H., M.Kn, and the Chancellor of UNPRI, Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting M.Kes along with the Rectorate staff. Also present were the President Director of Royal Prima Hospital, DR.dr.Wienaldi, M.K.M, representatives of the Dean, heads of bureaus, professors, lecturers, staff, students, academics, and the UNPRI extended family.

In the Rector's remarks, Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting M.Kes, conveyed a message of togetherness and joy in celebrating Christmas. He said, "Gathering in joy, Christmas is a moment of God's glory and peace. In 2023, let us together celebrate the glory of God and pray for peace on earth. Let us be open to forgiving and loving each other, creating a harmonious atmosphere in the midst of the UNPRI extended family."

With the background of 2023 which will soon end. The Rector hinted at the hope for glory to God and peace that encompasses the earth. The phrase "gathering in joy" is not just a sentence, but an invitation to appreciate moments of togetherness, foster a positive spirit, and unite hearts in the atmosphere of Christmas joy. Furthermore, the Rector also emphasized the importance of an open attitude in forgiving and loving each other, as the main foundation for creating harmony within the UNPRI family.

The Christmas sermon delivered by Rev. Daniel Sinaga, S.Th, raised the theme of the Shepherd as the first sermon that proclaimed the presence of the Messiah. Rev. Sinaga motivated the audience with the question, "Has Christ been born for you?" He emphasized that glory belongs only to God and invited them to reflect on the world situation that is full of conflict. In his sermon, Rev. Daniel Sinaga said that currently, the world is in great need of peace and love. Highlighting the current global situation, the pastor sensitively mentioned two crucial conflicts in Ukraine and Palestine as examples of cases that require attention and deep reflection. Through his emphasis on love, Rev. Sinaga encourages every individual, especially the UNPRI extended family, to be inspired to carry out their respective roles in responding to these global challenges with care and kindness.

Christmas celebrations at UNPRI are not only a religious event, but also foster a spirit of togetherness and unity within the extended academic family. This event is a valuable moment that strengthens the bonds between all elements of the university, providing inspiration to continue to contribute to creating a more peaceful and independent world. Especially in the city of Medan, the warm moment of Christmas celebrations at UNPRI creates a deeper and more meaningful atmosphere for every individual who celebrates, enriching academic life amidst the cultural diversity and intellectual wealth that are the special characteristics of this city.
