: UNPRI Fieldtrip to PT Basic International Sumatra: Evidence of Work-Ready and Competent Alumni

A Tangible Form of UNPRI's Commitment to Strengthening Industrial Linkages and Ensuring Graduates' Professional Competency in the Global Era.

Sei Mangke – In an effort to strengthen collaboration between the academic world and the industrial world, lecturers and students of Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) held a fieldtrip to PT Basic International Sumatra located in Sei Mangke on Friday, February 13, 2026. This activity was designed as a direct learning tool that allows students to witness and understand the dynamics and work practices in the industrial world firsthand, while proving that UNPRI alumni are ready to work, competent, and competitive in various industrial sectors.

This visit was attended by Vice Rector IV of UNPRI Dr. dr. Ali Napiah Nasution, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fajar Rezeki Ananda Lubis, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology Prof. Ir. Bhakti Alamsyah, as well as a number of lecturers and students from various study programs. This activity aims to strengthen the relationship between the university and alumni who have careers in the industrial sector, where participants received presentations on company operational activities and various challenges in the industrial environment.

Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at UNPRI, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fajar Rezeki Ananda Lubis, stated that this activity aims to explore real issues occurring in the field. "On this good occasion, we want to hear how the phenomena occurring at PT Basic International Sumatra are, so that we can 'collect problems' to then be adopted as case studies in our curriculum," he said. This is in line with UNPRI's commitment to continue to innovate in aligning education with labor market needs through the Sociotechnopreneurship vision.

This activity was also a platform for sharing experiences from seven UNPRI alumni who are pursuing careers at PT Basic International Sumatra in strategic positions ranging from Human Resources, International Sales, Export Import Logistics, Field Translator, Quality Control, to the financial field. Their presence proves that UNPRI alumni are not only ready to work but also competent and able to compete in the industrial world. The success of these alumni is clear evidence that UNPRI produces graduates who are ready to use and able to provide direct contributions in the workplace as competent and high-quality human resources.
